# Type of Fields

When creating new custom fields or application forms, Manatal allows you to choose from a wide variety of field types:

1. **Text:** Allows for text up to 255 characters.
2. **Long Text:** Allows for text with no character count limit.
3. **Date:** Allows for a date to be inserted.

          Important

          

Only dates with the format YYYY-MM-DD are accepted.
4. **Number:** Allows for a number to be inserted.
5. **Percentage:** Allows for a percentage to be inserted.

11. **Rating:** Allows for a rating from 1 to 5.
